GRS is not only highly respected by our clients but by our professional colleagues as well. In recognition of our success with providing services to local underserved, vulnerable and high risk communities, GRS has been the recipient of the following awards:
2024 Two Awards For Business Excellence
Clarmundo Sullivan, founder and executive director of GRS received a Black History Month Legacy Award of Excellence at the 36th Annual Sacramento Black History Expo. The award recognizes Sullivan’s outstanding contributions to building equity and fostering opportunities within the Black community.
Mr. Sullivan also received the “2024 Business in Excellence” award from the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Excellence Awards in March.
2019 Heroes of Human Services Award
Golden Rule Services received the 2019 Heroes of Human Services Award presented by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and the Human Services Coordinating Council. The award was in honor of those who have touched the lives of others through their advocacy, dedication and efforts in human services within Sacramento County.
2017 NorCal AIDS Cycle Unsung Hero Award
GRS board member James Douglas received the 2017 “Unsung Hero” Award from NorCal AIDS Cycle. This was his eighth year of crew participation for the Golden Rule services team.
2017 International Cleve Jones HIV-AIDS Leadership Award
On April 21, 2017 Queen Mother Nicole I of the Imperial Court System presented Golden Rule Services Founder and CEO Clarmundo Sullivan with the International Cleve Jones HIV-AIDS Leadership Award. This award recognizes excellence and commitment by HIV-AIDS organizations, agencies, individuals, and leaders in the continuing fight against HIV-AIDS.
2017 Resolution for Clarmundo Sullivan from Assemblyman Kevin McCarty
On February 7, 2017, Golden Rule Services held its annual National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day event. GRS was able to feed over 50 people, educate and hand out information on PrEP, exchange programs and HIV and STD prevention, and test 27 individuals for HIV. This is more testing conducted than any prior NBHAAD event! GRS Founder and Executive Director Clarmundo Sullivan was presented a resolution from Assemblyman McCarty in recognition of his lifelong dedication to ending justice disparities in the People of Color communities as well as his work in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

2015 Proclamation from Assemblyman Kevin McCarty
2015 marked the 15th anniversary of Golden Rule Services. In honor of this milestone, GRS was presented a proclamation issued by Sacramento Assemblyman Kevin McCarty. The proclamation was presented Sept. 6, on the Rainbow Festival mainstage by McCarty representative Andrew Becker.
2014 Pride Awards
The Sacramento PRIDE Awards recognize Sacramento leaders for their community service, leadership and good old fashioned “get it done” attitudes. These LGBT (and ally) activists are synonymous with leadership, service and commitment to their communities. They donate their time and money to helping making our community safer, shattering stigmas, fighting for rights and much more.

We are also proud to acknowledge that our Executive Director, Clarmundo Sullivan, was the 39th community-elected Emperor of the Court of the Great Northwest Imperial Empire.
2012 Sabbatical Program Awards
GRS Executive Director Clarmundo Sullivan the receiving 2012 Sabbatical Program Award. The California Wellness Foundation Sabbatical Program Award was created to improve the long-term effectiveness of health-focused nonprofits by providing their executives with the rest they need to continue to direct their organizations’ missions.
